This brass Fair Trade Nepalese Tara mini statuette is perfect for any small or intimate meditation space. The mini statuette (or murti in Nepali) stands 4.7 cm (1.85") tall by 3.1cm (1.2") wide.
In Tibetan Buddhism, there are many forms of Tara. She is a tantric meditation deity, a goddess of compassion, spiritual healing and virtue among many other qualities. Here she is shown in the form associated with 'White Tara': at ease with her left leg folded in the contemplative position and her right leg outstretched, ready to spring forward.
Tara's left hand is in the mudra (gesture) of protection and her right hand makes the mudra of giving or granting of boons. Both hands also hold the stems of lotus flowers which bloom at her shoulders, signifying spiritual Realization.
